On Wednesday, May 29, 2013, CEOs and business leaders who are also members of the JA Board of Directors will mentor 188 students at Washington Elementary School, 1015 W. Washington Blvd, Fort Wayne. Beginning at 9:00 a.m. and continuing until 1:00 p.m., they will share economic and personal financial literacy learning activities during JA in a Day.

Attending Board members will include Rex Peters, Senior Location Executive, IBM Corporation; Greg O’Daniel, O’Daniel Automotive Group; and David Rednour, Vice President, Riverside Manufacturing, LLC. As they guide classroom-based activities, the students will develop the knowledge and skills they need plan for their future and make smart academic and economic choices.

“Research shows that financially knowledgeable people are more likely to be self-supporting and to increase their standard of living through wise spending, saving, planning, and investing,” says Eric Ottinger, Executive Vice President, Lake City Bank, and Junior Achievement of Northern Indiana Board Chair. “As JA Board members, we believe in the ability of JA programs to enhance the relevance of classroom learning, and we are excited about the opportunity to share the JA programs that educators ask for year after year.”
